Monica Coburn is the Founder of 9th Island Business Connections and the Founder & CEO of Nevada Business Advisors, a Las Vegas–based firm that helps small businesses start, grow, and scale through strategic consulting, financing, and certifications.

Born and raised in Hawaiʻi, Monica spent more than two decades in the banking and finance industry — holding leadership roles across branch management, business banking, private banking, and SBA lending, including a Senior Vice President role at a major financial institution — before stepping out to launch her own advisory practice.

Having lived both halves of the 9th Island story herself, Monica saw the opportunity to build a community that bridges Hawaiʻi and Southern Nevada through relationships, collaboration, and the spirit of aloha. 9IBC is the place she envisioned: where business owners from both shores can connect, learn from one another, and grow together.

Blossom is a Co-Founder of 9th Island Business Connections and the heart of its community spirit. In her own words:

I’m a strong-minded, fearless woman with a wild spirit, a big heart, and a personality that was never meant to be tamed. I’ve overcome obstacles that would have made some people give up, but giving up has never been in my DNA. I’ve always been strong, and life has only made me stronger. I stand on my own, speak my mind, live by my own rules, and walk my own path. I don’t follow the crowd, compete for attention, or change who I am to make others comfortable.

I’m loyal to those who are real with me, ride hard for the people I love, and protect my peace like it’s priceless. I can have a heart of gold and a backbone of steel. I’ll laugh with you, stand beside you, and give you genuine love — but don’t mistake my kindness for weakness. I know my worth, recognize my value, and have no problem walking away from anything that costs me my peace.

I’m adventurous, a little wild, full of life, and always ready to make memories worth talking about. I’ve got scars that tell stories, lessons that built character, and a fire inside me that refuses to go out. I wasn’t born to fit in, ask permission, or live by anyone else’s expectations.

I’m a survivor, a force to be reckoned with, and 100% unapologetically ME. I bend, but I don’t break. I learn, I level up, and I keep moving forward. My energy is real, my loyalty is earned, my heart is genuine, and my strength is non-negotiable. I know where I’ve been, I know what I’ve overcome, and I know exactly who I am. The story isn’t over yet — and trust me, my best chapters are still ahead.
